Climate Pros SD matches you with licensed HVAC companies for duct cleaning. We do not run trucks, set a per-vent price, or advertise a whole-home dollar range.

A technician providing a homeowner with a quote for duct cleaning on a tablet

Should you have the ducts cleaned at all?

EPA does not recommend routine duct cleaning on a fixed schedule. It recommends cleaning as needed. Conditions to consider include substantial visible mold, vermin, excessive dust or debris, or particles coming from supply registers. Inspect and correct the cause.

EPA also says duct cleaning has never been shown to prevent health problems, and studies do not conclusively show that particles in ducts raise indoor particle levels. Unexplained symptoms should not be blamed on ducts without evidence. Little evidence exists that cleaning ducts alone improves efficiency.

ENERGY STAR says a typical forced-air house can lose about 20% to 30% of the air moving through ducts because of leaks, holes, and poorly connected ducts. That is a national typical-house statement. Sealing addresses leakage. Cleaning addresses contamination when conditions justify it. Neither supports a guaranteed bill, energy, health, or comfort outcome.

What belongs on a real quote?

Ask, in writing:

  • Which trunks, branches, and supplies are included, and which are not (flex buried in insulation, masonry, etc.).
  • Whether the blower, evaporator cabinet, and returns are opened and cleaned, or only a hose at a vent.
  • Whether they use source-removal (vacuum and agitation) versus a perfume fog.
  • Access: attic, crawl, or wall cavities.
  • Whether they will photograph before and after, and whether they will tell you if they found mold, water, or pests instead of just spraying.

A low advertised special that balloons once the truck arrives is a sales pattern. Climate Pros SD does not match you to a $99 whole-house coupon, because we do not set prices.

What changes a San Diego job besides square footage?

Coastal humidity can keep dust stuck. Inland houses may have more outdoor dust on returns. Construction debris after a remodel is a reason to clean. Pets and wildfire smoke are filter and filtration questions first. See filter MERV and indoor air quality.

FAQs

How much does duct cleaning cost in San Diego?

The matched company quotes the house. This brand does not publish a 2026 table.

What is a fair price per vent?

Per-vent ads hide skipped trunks. Pay for a defined scope.

Are cheap duct-cleaning ads a scam?

Often they are a door for upsells. Ask what equipment they bring and what they will not clean.

Will duct cleaning lower my SDG&E bill?

EPA does not support that as a proven, standalone result. Sealing leaks is a different job.
